POCATELLO — The Children’s Summer Art Program at the Pocatello Art Center, 444 N. Main St., begins Monday, June 8 from 10 a.m. to noon for 6- to 8-year-olds and Thursday, June 11 from 10 a.m. to noon for 9- to 12-year-olds.

This is a pay-as-you-come program; no registration is required. The cost is $5 per child, each time they attend.

This summer they have five different instructors who will bring to the classroom a variety of art and art crafts. The program will include such things as painting ceramics, making and painting masks, comic book art, scratch art, pastel art, gauche/watercolor art, just to name a few.

The program continues each week through Aug. 10 and Aug. 13. There will be no classes the week of July 4.

In addition to this program, the Art Center is offering an adult class called “A Patriotic Taste of Art,” where adults can come and paint on a canvas with acrylics and drink their favorite wine together. Bob Beason is the instructor, and it is guaranteed you will have fun.

All you need to bring is you, (a friend/date if you wish) and your favorite wine.

All supplies and snacks are furnished by the Art Center. Call the Art Center at 208-232-9070 to register with payment of $20 per person.

This type of class has become very popular throughout the United States and is now available in Pocatello.
